On Wednesday 24th April 2019, I braved out the rain to use the sea kayak for the first time and my eyes were opened to how difficult it is to steer a kayak that is three times the size of you.
I would formally like to introduce Garstang Canoe and Kayak Club as our official sponsors for Cano2019. I can’t believe I can actually say that! Thanks to the generosity of this Club we now have a kayak, equipment and a license to canoe down the canals. Everything we need to complete the challenge basically and all free of charge.
Children were on the streets begging and you couldn’t do anything because it would only encourage their mothers to send them back out again. Adults and children alike wore ripped clothes and two left shoes. So I decided to try and do something about it through a series of sponsored challenges
In June 2017, I went to Uganda in search of who I was. I came back having been given so much more. Not only did the people bring back my confidence, but they also showed me a better way to live, having smiles and heart so big despite their situation; I saw first-hand children arriving at school with no shoes, torn clothes and stories that broke my heart. So I want to give back to them.
